Job Overview:

Perform various cleaning duties in assigned areas of the school in accordance with the Health Department standards and the Principal's direction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.

Reports to: Building Principal

Work Year: 35 hours/week; June 23-August 28.

Compensation/Benefits: $17.00/hour. This is a temporary, seasonal position with no benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general cleaning of classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed.
• Clean and sanitize desks, surfaces, and high-touch areas.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Support summer maintenance projects (e.g., painting, minor repairs).
• Empty trash and recycling and maintain waste areas.
• Set up and break down spaces for summer programs or events as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

The physical and environmental demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods
