In this role, you will help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of County facilities through a variety of custodial duties while delivering exceptional customer service.

Typical work hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and/or 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Employees are scheduled to work five days per week, with shifts that may occur any day of the week, including weekends, based on operational needs. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and accommodate these hours.

About This Role:

The Custodian position performs routine custodial work in the care and cleaning of County buildings and may also perform semi-skilled custodial tasks and heavy manual labor as needed.

The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, chemicals, and equipment; knowledge of safety procedures and the effective use of cleaning chemicals; the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; and the ability to work well with others.

Minimum Requirements:

8th Grade Education and 0-12 months of experience performing routine custodial tasks in a commercial setting.

Preferences:

  • Expert knowledge of/experience with floor maintenance techniques, to include equipment used in the process. (such as floor scrubbers and buffers as well as extraction machines)
  • Practical experience using a chemical dispensing system
  • Expert knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Special Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical exam
  • Valid driver's license
  • Background checks/verification are required, which may include but are not limited to: criminal history, credit history, education, drivers license, and/or finger printing

Work Schedule:

Work hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and/or 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Employees are scheduled to work five days per week (37.5 hours), with shifts that may occur any day of the week, including weekends, based on operational needs. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and accommodate these hours.

Starting Salary Range:

$17.99 to $28.11
