Job Description
The Custom Applicator is responsible for the safe and efficient application of crop protection products, fertilizer, and other agronomic inputs for customers operations. This role supports agronomy sales and operations by delivering a high-quality application service to customers in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate self-propelled sprayers, floaters, spreaders, tenders, and other application equipment safely and efficiently
- Apply fertilizer, crop protection products, lime, and other inputs according to label, agronomic recommendations, and company standards
- Ensure accurate blending, mixing, calibration, and application rates
- Perform daily equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs
- Maintain application records and documentation in compliance with company, state, and federal regulations
- Load and transport products safely while following DOT and OSHA guidelines
- Assist with agronomy operations including seed handling, warehousing, and inventory management as needed
- Communicate with agronomy staff and customers regarding field conditions, application timing, and service needs
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous custom application, farming, or agronomy operations experience preferred
- CDL or ability to obtain CDL preferred
- Commercial Applicator License or ability to obtain required certifications
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of agronomy practices, crop inputs, and precision application technology preferred
