Custom Packer

Olympia Chimney, Inc. has partnered with Hueman to find a full-time Custom Packer 2 for their Custom department in Pittston, PA.

As a Custom Packer 2, you will prepare custom metal venting products for shipment by creating packaging, packing and labeling products, completing work orders, and ensuring products are packaged accurately and securely. This hands-on role requires strong attention to detail, measurement skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Olympia Chimney is a leading designer and manufacturer of stainless steel chimney liners, venting systems for heating appliances, and other accessories for venting professionals and hearth retailers throughout the United States.

Job Responsibilities:

• Determine and create appropriate packaging for products, including cartons and wooden crates, to ensure damage-free shipment.
• Measure, weigh, and count products and materials to ensure orders are accurate.
• Read customer orders and packing instructions and verify products meet specifications.
• Assemble, line, pad, seal, and label boxes and containers using hand tools.
• Build custom-sized boxes using measurements and operate a cardboard cutting machine.
• Mark and label products and containers accurately for shipment.
• Inspect products, materials, and packaging to ensure quality and packing specifications are met.
• Complete and close out work orders using computer equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Remove completed or defective products and materials as needed.
• Maintain inventory and order packing supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• May train new packing employees and assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to convert fractions to decimals; basic geometry skills are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, time-management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Basic woodworking skills, including experience using saws and nail guns, preferred.
• Previous experience as a packer or in a similar position is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to frequently lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.

Schedule: Full-time, first shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. No travel is required for this position.
