Akkodis is seeking a Custom Software Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in Java/Kotlin development, API test automation, and REST service validation, along with a passion for building scalable automation frameworks and improving product quality.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Custom Software Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated API test frameworks using Java and/or Kotlin.

• Create and execute automated tests to verify third-party partner APIs and integrations.

• Define test strategies, test coverage, and automation plans for new application features and enhancements.

• Develop and maintain REST API test suites while diagnosing and resolving test failures.

• Contribute to the design and development of testing tools, frameworks, and automation infrastructure.

• Perform root cause analysis of complex technical issues and drive automation failures to resolution.

• Collaborate with development and product teams to improve application quality, reliability, and test coverage.

• Prioritize, schedule, and communicate testing activities, risks, and status updates to stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of hands-on industry experience in software testing, QA automation, or SDET roles.

• Strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin programming.

• Experience developing API automation frameworks with a strong focus on REST services.

• Experience troubleshooting automation failures and analyzing complex distributed systems.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with a testability mindset.

• Ability to design comprehensive test cases and build robust automation solutions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of CI/CD principles and automated testing strategies for cloud-native applications.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and virtualization technologies.

• Familiarity with AI/ML solutions and intelligent application platforms.

• Experience with Jest or similar testing frameworks.

• Knowledge of cloud application development, deployment, and testing best practices.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
