Description

Overview:

The Customer Account Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of warehouse and distribution activities while managing customer relationships, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role oversees warehouse personnel, ensures service and productivity goals are achieved, supports customer satisfaction and retention, and partners cross-functionally with operations, finance, sales, and leadership teams to drive operational excellence and profitable growth.

Responsibilities:

Operations Management

  • Develop and implement shipping, receiving, and operational work schedules to ensure efficient daily execution.
  • Supervise inbound and outbound operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Monitor productivity, staffing, and workflow to meet daily and overall facility objectives.
  • Partner with leadership teams to balance labor and operational priorities.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment is utilized and maintained effectively.
  • Draft and submit operational reports, dashboards, and end-of-shift updates.
  • Support onboarding, startup activities, and implementation of new customer operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor operational expenses and performance metrics against targets.

Customer & Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain productive professional relationships with customer stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal departments including operations, sales, finance, HR, and project management to support customer expectations and operational execution.
  • Lead customer meetings, reviews, QBRs, and performance discussions.
  • Develop and communicate business strategies and operational plans aligned with customer needs and market conditions.
  • Ensure timely communication and resolution of operational or customer-related issues.

Employee Leadership & Development

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to employees and supervisors.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to review safety, productivity, workload forecasts, and operational priorities.
  • Support employee onboarding, training, and development programs.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance management.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and talent development.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and attendance records.
  • Demonstrate commitment to self-development and continuous learning.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operations in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Support all safety programs, reporting processes, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Ensure daily equipment inspections and pre-flight checks are completed and reviewed.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT, FDA, and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, supply chain, or operations leadership experience.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and operational performance within a distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred).
  • Strong understanding of operational metrics, process improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability and availability to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform bending, stretching, and reaching activities.
  • Ability to work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and operational conditions.
