GGG companies provide strength in sourcing, insurance, finance, logistics, food safety and information technology, and supplies the needs of retailers, distributors, foodservice chains, hotels, cruise lines, and food manufacturers alike.

Position Summary:

The Customer Excellence Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional service through effective written and verbal communication skills. This role requires the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy during order entry. Key responsibilities include addressing customer inquiries via phone, order entry, managing administrative tasks related to dispute resolution, processing returns, credits, and collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless support. This position reports to the Manager of the Post-Sales Customer Excellence Department.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Accurately and efficiently input data from various sources (e.g., customer purchase orders, customer calls) into the company database.
  • Verify and cross-check all data for accuracy and completeness, promptly addressing any discrepancies.
  • Identify and correct data entry errors in a timely manner.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide support.
  • Professionally and efficiently handle incoming calls and emails, ensuring prompt and friendly customer service.
  • Manage customer accounts with low levels of complexity, which may include EDI and customer portals.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of web/ e-commerce orders (ECO/EDS preferred); training will be provided as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Sales team and internal departments to provide timely updates on customer pricing, requests, and service issues.
  • Process customer returns and sample orders as required.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks, including correspondence and filing, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience in a sales-driven organization or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn and adapt to additional software programs as needed.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong typing abilities with a focus on accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive approach to handling demanding situations and providing effective solutions.
  • Demonstrates urgency in responding to inquiries from internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Positive attitude, conscientious work ethic, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Salary Range:$48,000 - $52,000 annually plus bonus

Our company will be relocating to a new corporate headquarters in Madison, NJ in Q1 of 2027. Candidates should be comfortable with this upcoming change in location.
