Organizational Overview The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) is a tax-exempt nonprofit focused on revitalizing Cincinnati’s urban core, particularly the Central Business District and Over-the-Rhine. Partnering with the City of Cincinnati and the corporate community, 3CDC works to create a vibrant downtown through development, programming, and district management, supported by a team of roughly 185 full-time and 150 part-time staff. 3CDC At-a-Glance: - 3CDC has contributed to more than $2B in development across Downtown and OTR, including civic spaces, mixed-income housing, and mixed-use projects.
- The organization manages nearly 700K square feet of commercial space, ~200 apartment units, and 5,900+ parking spaces, generating $51M+ annually.
- 3CDC oversees seven civic spaces, hosting nearly 1,600 free events each year.
- 3CDC also manages the Downtown Cincinnati and OTR South Special Improvement Districts, providing clean and safe services, outreach, beautification, and marketing.

Customer Experience Ambassadors are the frontline representatives of 3CDC within Cincinnati’s civic spaces. Ambassadors patrol assigned areas on foot, helping to maintain safe, welcoming, and vibrant public environments for residents, workers, and visitors. Through visible presence, friendly customer service, rule enforcement, and quick response to cleanliness and quality-of-life concerns, Ambassadors play a critical role in creating positive experiences in shared public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Public Engagement
- Proactively greet and assist residents, visitors, and businesses with directions, event information, or general recommendations.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the organization’s standards of respect, professionalism, and inclusivity.
- Serve as a visible and approachable presence in civic spaces.
- Engage respectfully and professionally with individuals whose behavior conflicts with posted rules, park regulations, or public space expectations.
- Provide education and guidance on rules and expectations while focusing on positive outcomes and de-escalation.
- Maintain a calm, solution-focused attitude in all interactions.
Operations Tasks - Support the overall cleanliness, presentation, and upkeep of civic spaces to ensure a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for the public.
- Assist with event-related operations, including setup, breakdown, and post-event cleanup activities as needed.
- Perform general maintenance support tasks such as litter collection, trash removal, and identifying or reporting conditions requiring additional attention.
Safety & Reporting - Maintain a highly visible and approachable presence in assigned areas to promote safety and discourage unwanted behavior.
- Conduct scheduled patrols of designated civic spaces during assigned shifts.
- Stay alert to quality-of-life concerns, unsafe conditions, or potential criminal activity while on patrol.

- Document emergency calls and notify Supervisors immediately or as soon as conditions allow.
Professionalism & Teamwork - Uphold 3CDC’s expectations for respectful, reliable, and accountable conduct at all times.
- Collaborate with fellow Ambassadors and Supervisors to ensure consistent coverage and communication across civic spaces.
- Support a positive team culture grounded in professionalism, customer service, efficiency, and inclusivity.
Qualifications - Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Comfortable engaging with the public and addressing conflict professionally and respectfully.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, safety, security, or other public-facing roles preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain on foot or bike for extended periods.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Licenses & Certifications - Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
Physical & Mental Demands - Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to remain on foot for 8+ hours in all weather conditions (rain, heat, snow, cold).
