Position: Collection Specialist/Customer Service

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46240 (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

SALARY: 41.6K/Year

Job Summary

Responsible for managing delinquent accounts and recovering outstanding balances through customer communication and negotiated payment arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned portfolio of delinquent accounts
  • Contact customers via phone, email, and written communication
  • Negotiate payment plans and resolve outstanding balances
  • Document all collection activities per compliance standards
  • Provide professional customer service and handle disputes
  • Use skip tracing tools to locate hard-to-reach customers

Requirements

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts
  • Ability to obtain required collections license

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma (some college preferred)
  • 0–1 year experience in collections or customer service
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and MS Office
  • Knowledge of collection laws/regulations
