Customer Support/Order Entry Specialist

Location: Dix Hills, NY

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Work Arrangement: Fully onsite for the first 2-3 months, transitioning to a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days onsite per week

Compensation: $25-30/hour, based on experience

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Support / Order Entry Specialist to join their team in Dix Hills, NY. This role is ideal for someone with strong order processing, customer service, and ERP/EDI experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a positive customer experience from order placement through fulfillment.

Responsibilities

  • Process and enter customer orders accurately and efficiently

  • Manage order acknowledgments, updates, and modifications

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding orders, shipments, and product information

  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely order fulfillment

  • Monitor open orders and proactively communicate status updates to customers

  • Maintain accurate customer and order data within the ERP system

  • Review and process EDI transactions and troubleshoot discrepancies as needed

  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate

  • Assist with inventory, shipping, and logistics-related inquiries

  • Support additional administrative and customer service functions as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer support, order entry, inside sales support, or a related role

  • Experience working with ERP systems and/or EDI platforms required

  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills

  • High school diploma required; additional education is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or related industries

  • Familiarity with inventory management and shipping processes

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
