Customer Service Representative (Event Assignment)

5-day temporary assignment June 19th - June 24th, including 1 mandatory training day

Position Summary:

This role is integral to delivering first-class event and facility operations within one of the state’s premier parking programs. The successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in managing high-profile events including major festivals, such as Sail 250, Fall Wine Fest, Norfolk Jazz Festival, Norfolk Tides and NSU game days, and over 300 other special events each year, while developing skills in leadership, event coordination, and operational execution.

The position plays a direct role in supporting the customer's mission to provide comprehensive and innovative parking solutions in a clean, safe, and customer-centered manner.

The Customer Service Representatives are expected to be proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven while contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist event attendees in a courteous and professional manner
  • Provide accurate information about the event, schedules, locations, and services
  • Give clear directions and help guide attendees throughout the event space
  • Collect fees and payments using a computerized cash terminal
  • Generate and distribute receipts for transactions
  • Accurately report and reconcile fees collected at assigned intervals
  • Monitor for and promptly report emergencies to appropriate personnel
  • Complete accident and incident reports as required
  • Follow all event policies, procedures, and training guidelines

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and electronic payments accurately
  • Basic computer skills and comfort using point-of-sale systems
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete reports accurately
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-traffic or fast-paced environments
  • Reliable attendance for all scheduled days, including the training day

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service, cashier, or event staffing experience
  • Experience working with the public in a customer-facing role

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Temporary, event-based assignment (with possible consideration for future events!)
  • May require standing for extended periods
  • Must be available for the full 5-day assignment, including training
