About Us

The NC Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) is the state government agency created to conserve and sustain the state’s fish and wildlife resources through research, scientific management, wise use and public input. The NCWRC is the regulatory agency responsible for the enforcement of North Carolina’s fishing, hunting, trapping, and boating laws. The agency has an operational budget of approximately $100 million and employs approximately 700 full-time staff and 100 seasonal temporary staff across the state, including wildlife and fisheries biologists and technicians, wildlife law enforcement officers, wildlife educators, communication specialists, and customer service, information technology and administrative professionals. The NCWRC Mission is to conserve North Carolina’s wildlife resources and their habitats and provide programs and opportunities that allow hunters, anglers, boaters, and other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy wildlife-associated recreation.

Description of Work

The NCWRC Office of Customer Support Services is comprised of two program sections (License/Permits and Vessel Registration/Titling) responsible for administering all hunting, trapping, and fishing licenses, permit hunt opportunity permits, vessel registrations and titles, wildlife service agent account support, and providing administrative support to all users of the Go Outdoors North Carolina Operating System (GONC).

The Customer Support Services (CSS) Section of Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC) is responsible for sales of hunting, trapping and fishing licenses, the permit hunting opportunities program, registration and titling of vessels and administration of more than 1,000 wildlife service agents and agency partners through its Go Outdoors North Carolina system (GONC).

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting applications for a Customer Service Representative (Administrative Specialist I) for our Customer Support Services (CSS) office. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide tier two customer support for vessel registration and titling and hunting, trapping, and fishing license and regulation questions. Customer support is provided by telephone, email, mail and in-person.
• Provide technical and administrative support for Wildlife Service Agents and other agency partners utilizing the GONC system.
• Research and resolve GONC system issues including operating system and transactional errors, and financial and reporting discrepancies.
• Manage the daily review and analysis of all incoming transactions to ensure all licenses, permits, registrations, and titles are issued in compliance with North Carolina general statutes and administrative code.

A Monday-Friday schedule is associated with this position which involves working 40 hours per week (8am-5pm). This position is based in the WRC headquarters in Raleigh, NC (Wake Co.).

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

RECRUITMENT RANGE:$39,244 - $50,000                               

MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES:  

  • Experience responding to high volume customer inquiries.
  • Experience interpreting and communicating detailed instructions, processes, or regulatory information in a professional manner.
  • Experience assisting customers by phone, email, and in-person.
  • Experience in a call center environment.
  • Experience reviewing documentation for accuracy.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;
