Hometown Insurance Agency, locally run for 39 years, seeking new customer service representative!

Position Overview:

Full time position will involve answering multiple phone lines, receiving and processing insurance payments, making changes to current policies, follow ups on claim and billing issues, filing, drafting letters, generating auto insurance quotes and submitting new business. (Pretty much all the usual insurance ninja skills.)

Job Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries
• Provide information about products and services including servicing of policies and complete online and paper applications
• Document and update customer records based on interactions
• Develop and maintain a knowledge base of the evolving products and services within the industry

Qualifications include but not limited to:

• Previous experience in customer service, sales, or other related fields
• High School Diploma (some college preferred)
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Computer skills including experience using Word/Excel/Internet Explorer
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Positive, calm, and professional demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of insurance industry (preferred)
• Property & Casualty license (or willingness to obtain one)

Candidate must work well under pressure and be able to multitask. Problem solving skills, organizing and maintaining client files and providing excellent customer service is essential. Self-motivation and working independently as well as with a team is a must. Excellent phone skills are vital to our business as well as excellent communication skills - written, verbal and listening - and ability to interact with diverse client base. Position requires willingness to follow-thru and follow-up. Knowledge of insurance field is preferred but not necessary. Compensation negotiable based on industry experience, skill set, and performance within agency.
