Customer Service Representative II

Pay Rate: $70,000–$75,000/year; Based on experience Location: Niskayuna, NY / Onsite Employment Type: Direct Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Bonus: 5%

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of customer service/account management experience; OR Associate’s degree plus 5+ years; OR high school diploma/GED plus 7+ years Systems: Familiarity with SAP (SD module) or a strong interest in learning enterprise systems Preferred: Chemical industry experience; bilingual English/Spanish

Our client is seeking a customer-focused Customer Service Representative II to manage customer accounts and coordinate order-related activities from initial order entry through final delivery. This role works closely with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, communicate order updates, and deliver a consistently positive customer experience. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative II will include:

• Manage the order-to-cash process, including contract management, order confirmation, invoicing, and delivery coordination.

• Process a variety of customer orders, including EDI and export orders.

• Serve as a primary contact for product, service, and supply chain inquiries.

• Proactively communicate with customers regarding order status, supply availability, and service needs.

• Analyze SAP reports to identify, investigate, and resolve outstanding issues.

• Collaborate with Sales, Demand Planning, Logistics, Product Stewardship, Trade Compliance, and Quality to address customer needs.

• Manage customer non-conformances and claims, including debit and credit notes.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.

Qualifications for the role of Customer Service Representative II:

• Meet one of the following education and experience combinations:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of customer service or account management experience.

  • Associate’s degree and 5+ years of customer service or account management experience.

  • High school diploma/GED and 7+ years of customer service or account management experience.

• Familiarity with SAP, particularly the SD module, or willingness to learn enterprise systems.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, multicultural work environment.

• Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks based on customer and business needs.

• Professionalism and composure under pressure.

• Proactive problem-solving skills and a strong sense of ownership.

• Team-oriented approach, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous learning.

• Chemical industry experience is preferred.

• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
