Job Summary
Serves as the customer’s advocate for Vehicle Group North America customers, ensuring superior levels of customer service and order management for assigned accounts.
This role focuses on efficient and effective order management to ensure on-time and complete shipments by monitoring customer requirements, resolving issues, and coordinating closely with manufacturing and distribution teams.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain (enter and follow up) customer order entries and monitor status daily to manage late issues
Prioritize and escalate customer line-down situations and past-due orders with scheduling, production, and purchasing
Instruct warehouse on order fulfillment and/or inventory replenishment
Respond to customer inquiries regarding capacity increases and safety stock requests
Answer inquiries related to new products and lead times
Perform price confirmation and entry
Prepare and manage Bills of Lading
Schedule transportation
Coordinate material and purchased component availability with purchasing and communicate updates to customers
Review customer forecasts and relay information to appropriate departments
Build and maintain spreadsheets
Maintain records, transactions, and inquiries
Act as a company ambassador
Understand customer needs through quality conversations and follow-up calls
Report unsafe conditions or practices
Keep Customer Service Manager informed of areas of concern
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical discipline
2+ years of customer service experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving and listening skills
Highly organized with strong multi-tasking ability
Demonstrated aptitude in Microsoft Office
Team-oriented with a positive outlook
Nice-to-Have Experience
Spanish and English speaking capability
Experience using reporting tools to identify order management inconsistencies
Experience supporting continuous process improvement initiatives
