Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing excellent service and support to customers by managing inquiries, processing orders, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. This role serves as a primary point of contact between the company and its customers and plays a key role in maintaining satisfaction, accuracy, and efficiency. This is Contract to Hire opportunity located in Elgin, IL. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process customer orders, quotes, returns, and credits accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Track order status, shipment details, and delivery timelines, providing updates to customers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records within ERP or CRM systems.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints by researching solutions and coordinating with internal teams.
  • Support sales and operations teams through administrative assistance and customer follow-up.
  • Assist with invoicing, pricing updates, and basic accounting data entry as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and service standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years of customer service or related experience in an office, manufacturing, distribution, or service environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, or order management systems preferred.

Job Details:

  • Contract to Hire
  • 100% onsite
  • Pay $20- $25 an hour, depending on experience
