Job Summary and Qualifications

A Customer Service Representative is responsible for answering incoming calls from patients and medical staff and placing outbound calls. The CSR will obtain meal orders by assisting the patient in their meal selections, according to their prescribed diet, in a prompt and courteous manner and enter them in the Food Service application. Manage daily operations including but not limited to: Meditech EHR, Food Service application, call center equipment, virtual phone and other programs. 

What you will do in this role:

  • Provide appropriate customer service to all clients
  • Schedule meal requests accurately and completely
  • Communicate effectively and timely to depts. through verbal and written communication
  • Complete all training and education as appropriate
  • Cross train to other scheduling areas upon request
  • Complete reports accurately and timely
  • Utilize computer software for scheduling of client meals
  • Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job function.
  • Phoned and/or faxed orders for meals processed in a prompt and timely manner within 1-3 minutes.
  • Orders sent to Kitchen via the computer promptly.
  • Orders taken via phone from patient, family member or dietary staff in a prompt, courteous manner.
  • Confirms order with caller prior to closure on the phone.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive, cooperative working relationship all departments while keeping phone calls concise.
  • Correctly utilizes the screens in Hospitality Suite for placing orders.
  • Able to read the screens in Hospitality Suite regarding orders being placed & sent to the kitchen.
  • Able to manage patients appropriately in Computrition.
  • Communicates changes in menu items availability according to department guidelines.
  • Assists with orientation of new employees as needed and serves as a resource within the department.
  • Appropriately responds and even seeks out constructive feedback to continually improve personal and departmental performance.
  • Recognized by customers as knowledgeable and helpful in ordering the meals with no reports of problems.
  • Follow Telecommuting Policy/Remote Worker Agreement

 Qualifications:

  • High School Education/GED preferred.
  • Customer Service, Call Center experience or Guest Services preferred
  • Ability to use a PC, type, listen, interact, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
