ROLE IMPACT

The Customer Service Representative I serves as a key point of contact for clients and healthcare providers, ensuring inquiries are resolved accurately and professionally. Success in this role is defined by strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly learn healthcare processes while supporting multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to client and healthcare provider inquiries by phone, email, fax, and written correspondence.
  • Handle inbound calls and make outbound calls as needed to resolve questions and concerns.
  • Research claim history and available resources to provide accurate information and solutions.
  • Partner with internal departments to investigate and resolve customer and provider issues.
  • Maintain reports and spreadsheets while documenting interactions accurately.
  • Clearly communicate findings and next steps in both written and verbal formats.
  • Perform additional customer service duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1–2 years of healthcare experience required.
  • Previous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and computer navigation skills with the ability to research information across multiple systems.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in healthcare customer service, medical billing, claims, insurance verification, revenue cycle, medical office administration, or hospital/physician practice support.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, or revenue cycle concepts is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to learn quickly, adapt to new processes, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
