    General Description

    The purpose of this class is to provide customer service duties in support of department operations.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

    • Greets visitors and answers telephones; provides information and assistance; directs to appropriate personnel.

    • Collects funds and issues motor vehicles license plates and renewal stickers.

    • Collects funds and processes applications for state and county beer, wine and liquor permits and coin operated machine stickers.

    • Receives and processes voter registration applications.

    • Processes and collects funds for private party vehicle title transfers and sales.

    • Inspects, processes and collects funds for titles provided by car dealerships. Receives, processes and applies monies to appropriate taxing entities and years for bankruptcies, payments received by attorneys, and county Sheriff sales.

    • Maintains responsibility for all funds collected at assigned workstation.

    • Organizes all work documentation for submission to Branch Manager.

    • Performs related work as assigned.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Requires High School diploma or GED equivalency.

    • Requires one year of experience providing customer service in an office environment.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

    Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

    The work is typically performed sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.

    The work is typically performed in an office.
