The Customer Service Representative is responsible for addressing client and/or provider inquiries via email, fax, telephonic, or written correspondence ensuring adherence to contractual and state guidelines as well as client instructions.

This role will primarily focus on supporting the area of liability claims but does not perform the functions of a Claims Adjuster.

Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, the ability to prioritize competing demands, and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.

This role requires internet upload and download speeds of at least 80Mbps and candidate must reside in Phoenix, AZ area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, review, and process liability claim submissions received through email, fax, telephone, and other designated intake channels
  • Meet established daily productivity and email-processing goals while maintaining quality and accuracy standards
  • Answer emails from clients, providers and internal referring offices
  • Review previous history of the provider in MedCheck, Scheck and SalesCloud
  • Consult with Supervisor or other departments to clarify answers to inquiries
  • Contact provider to discuss findings at the appropriate level
  • Maintain reports and spreadsheets as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Understanding of liability claim documentation, legal documentation, and claim reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation fee schedules and regulations
  • Medical terminology and coding knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal partners
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience working in the Managed Care and Benefit Administration industries
  • Prior liability claims, insurance claims, workers' compensation, or related claims-processing experience preferred (but not adjuster experience required)

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $13.94 - $21.48 per hour
