The Community Services, Parks & Recreation Department enriches lives by providing a wide range of recreational opportunities, parks, and social services for residents of all ages. Duties/Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As our new Customer Service Representative II, you will:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.
  • Independently perform the full range of customer service and administrative support duties with minimal supervision.
  • Research accounts, resolve customer concerns, and provide accurate information regarding City programs, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Process applications, payments, service requests, and other customer transactions while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and update records, databases, and files using a variety of computer systems and software applications.
  • Exercise sound judgment and initiative to resolve issues, support departmental operations, and deliver quality customer service.

  • Has experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understands customer service principles, problem-solving techniques, and conflict resolution practices.
  • Can interpret and explain policies, procedures, and regulations clearly and professionally.
  • Effectively uses computer systems, software applications, and modern office equipment.
  • Exercises independent judgment, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines.
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible clerical experience.

  • Ability to speak Spanish, as well as English. Qualified applicants will be invited to a panel interview and must successfully pass a verbal bilingual examination in Spanish for placement on the eligibility list.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Light Physical Effort: involved typical workplace tasks such as typing, writing, filing, and operating light office equipment, with no strenuous physical activities required.
  • Work Environment: Generally performed in standard office settings with no unusual physical or environmental demands; lifting is minimal, typically not exceeding 25 pounds.
