DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Municipal Courts has an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Representative II who will provide general information and customer assistance by using effective problem-solving techniques to achieve quality customer service.
Reconcile and verify the working fund at the beginning and the end of each shift.
Ensure compliance with all internal controls by distributing cash tills and validate cashier summaries.
Prepares bank deposits, and accurately and efficiently process/record MCD transactions for bank deposit ensuring the department is in compliance with the bank and MCD policies.
Consolidate deposits for ARA Parking and Municipal Courts.
Maintain and complete accurate records of itemized bank deposits slips and all receipted transactions.
Record and log daily deposit totals. Record daily credit card batch totals.
Ensure information is accurate, current and available upon demand. Research financial discrepancies using CSMART, Inovah Portal, and Parking Case Management system.
Assists customers with various inquiries and maintain productive relationships with external stakeholders.
Use effective questioning techniques to verify/confirm customer concerns.
Understand and fully participates in the achievement of the department goals and ensures completion of assigned tasks.
Share resources and adjusts priorities/schedule when needed to assist the department.
Uses appropriate interpersonal communications style and methods in guiding and motivating others to accomplish department/division goals.
Will function in a lead capacity or serve as a shift leader to educate and provide practical training to new and existing personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must submit to annual and on demand background checks
All candidates must be able to successfully pass CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) certification, which includes fingerprinting and a full criminal background check, as a condition of employment. Continued employment in this position requires maintaining CJIS background check clearance at all times.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office setting. Requires long periods of time sitting at computer terminal and interacting with citizens on the telephone as well as in person. This includes placing multiple outgoing calls and handling multiple incoming calls on a daily basis.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions as might normally be acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of administrative or customer service-related experience is required.
Three (3) years of cash handling experience is required.

PREFERENCES
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of Integrated Case Management Systems (ICMS) and its functionalities.
Prior experience working in electronic court environment is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Two (2) years of lead experience is preferred.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
