Are you someone who enjoys helping people, staying organized, and working in a fast-paced environment? Sunrock is looking for a customer-focused Customer Service Representative to serve as the primary point of contact for customers, truck drivers, and internal operations.

While you'll receive training on scalehouse operations, ticketing, dispatch support, and quality control processes, your primary day-to-day responsibility is delivering exceptional customer service. You'll spend much of your day answering phones, assisting customers, entering orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring customers receive timely, accurate service.

If you thrive in a role where communication, multitasking, and teamwork are essential, we'd love to meet you.

Essential Duties

Customer Service (Primary Responsibility)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact by answering a high volume of incoming phone calls.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to contractors, truck drivers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Receive and process aggregate product orders accurately.
  • Answer customer questions regarding products, deliveries, pricing, and order status.
  • Communicate order changes and updates to operations, sales, quality control, and management.
  • Build positive relationships through professional, friendly, and timely communication.
  • Support customers by recommending value-added products and services when appropriate.

Scalehouse Operations

  • Learn to safely operate the quarry scalehouse.
  • Weigh inbound and outbound trucks while ensuring compliance with North Carolina DOT weight limits.
  • Verify empty truck weights and confirm accurate scale readings.
  • Issue and process load tickets accurately.
  • Collect and scan daily production tickets.
  • Manage cash transactions and balance the cash drawer when applicable.
  • Assist with dispatching trucks and supporting aggregate logistics.

Operations & Administrative Support

  • Coordinate communication between customers, dispatch, production, quality control, and sales.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and assist with truck routing.
  • Utilize company software to:
    • Enter customer orders
    • Dispatch and track trucks
    • Generate reports
    • Upload production tickets
  • Complete daily operational reports and logs.
  • Assist with opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Conduct visitor hazard awareness training.
  • Help ensure efficient plant operations and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Comfortable answering and managing multiple phone calls throughout the day.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Current North Carolina Driver License.
  • Ability to obtain a North Carolina and/or Virginia Weighmaster License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of customer service, call center, dispatch, administrative support, or office experience.
  • Experience working in construction materials, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments is a plus—but not required.
  • Previous experience with order entry, dispatching, or scalehouse operations is helpful but not necessary.
