Description

Join our amazing team as aCustomer Service Representative. This position is responsible for receiving and responding to inquiries from patrons, entering data into a registration software system and handling transactions while at the front desk and on the telephone. Provides clerical and general office support to Supervisors and Managers. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the District. Work location and hours may fluctuate; evening or weekend work may apply.

Pay & Schedule: $15.00+ Per Hour depending on experience

This is a part-time, non-exempt position OR IMRF

This position offers 15-25 hours per week. Shift lengths are typically 4-6 hours.

Facility Hours: Monday - Friday: 5:30am - 8:00pm Weekends: 7:00am - 5:00pm

Availability to work one weekend day and evening shift, is required.

Positions working 25+ hours per week may be eligible for IMRF with Benefits.

Anticipated Start Date: 9/29/2025

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform registration operations using registration software to process customer transactions; transactions are accepted online, via email, in-person or by mail.
  • Accurately explains registration procedures and provides correct information regarding programs and facilities.
  • Correctly enters registration data into the computer system.
  • Accurately handles all monetary transactions and routinely runs registration reports while following established cash handling procedures.
  • Quickly learns (or has access to) all details of Park District programs, facilities, fee structures and instructors.
  • Provides staff and patrons timely notice of program changes and cancellations.
  • Readily assists with special event preparation and execution as needed.
  • Effectively provides a variety of clerical support functions to Supervisors and Managers including typing, filing, copying and message handling.
  • Diligently follows and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.
  • Follows safe work practices.
  • Attends trainings and meetings as required.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service experience is preferred.

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Perform basic math computations to reconcile cash drawers
  • Effectively multitask
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Effectively communicate on telephone conversations; relaying messages that are clear and concise
  • Work with customers and co‐workers in a professional manner in stressful situations
  • Work independently and efficiently
  • Become CPR/AED certified
