ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Customer Service Representative is primarily responsible for serving the needs of current customers through a customer centric, needs based approach. In order to accomplish this, the Customer Service Representative cultivates strong relationships, seeking to know customers personally and understand their current needs, as well as future needs. The successful Customer Service Representative builds strong rapport with customers through a conversation based on the customer’s needs and goals, processes customer transactions in a timely and accurate manner, and seeks opportunities to strengthen the customer relationship by serving unmet needs. 

The Customer Service Representative follows legal, ethical, and State Farm guidelines to educate prospects and customers about insurance and financial services offerings, make recommendations in the customer’s best interests, complete applications accurately, and empower customers to make informed decisions about their insurance and financial services needs. 

This position requires licensing in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Those who are not currently licensed are eligible for paid training and testing to obtain a license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receives and processes payments
  • Processes policy transactions and applications as necessary.
  • Answers customer questions regarding policies and accounts.
  • Documents customer interactions and transactions according to company guidelines
  • Uses online resources and business partners as necessary.
  • Facilitates communications with State Farm Claims as necessary.
  • Identifies coverage gaps and suggests additional products and services as may be appropriate for the customer’s needs.
  • Calls existing customers to offer additional products and services which may be appropriate.
  • Calls existing customers to schedule appointments for account reviews as appropriate.
  • Develops leads through personal networking, community events and the use of warm leads as they may be available.
  • Asks clarifying and qualifying questions to identify unmet needs, wants, and dreams.
  • Educates prospects and customer on features and benefits of insurance and financial services products.
  • Builds customized insurance and financial services packages to meet customer’s needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Licensed in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance in Virginia (or the ability to obtain licenses within 60 days)
  • Ability to solve problems using provided resources.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers, whether over the phone or in person.
  • Persuasive reasoning and listening skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience in Customer Service or Sales
  • Background in the insurance industry
  • Experience delivering customer-focused solutions and in creating long-lasting relationships.
  • Persistent nature with goal-oriented mind.

Compensation $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year, with additional monthly commission and bonuses, with room for advancement and salary growth.
