Overview

We are seeking a Customer Support Engineer to act as a key liaison between a manufacturing operation and a customer plant environment. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, supporting issue resolution, and maintaining strong customer relationships through on-site technical and operational support.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically skilled, and able to analyze and resolve product-related issues while communicating effectively across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary communication link between the customer plant and manufacturing operations
  • Perform first-level analysis of non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions
  • Verify suspect products and maintain test equipment used for inspections
  • Track and re-verify parts within internal systems
  • Expedite non-conforming materials back to manufacturing the same day
  • Input data into incident reporting systems and maintain accurate records
  • Coordinate and lead initial 24-hour containment activities for quality issues
  • Support ongoing containment and resolution efforts with cross-functional teams
  • Monitor and manage customer return metrics (e.g., Return Parts Per Million PPM)
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support product quality and business growth
  • Provide technical support and system guidance to stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver weekly reports and updates
  • Participate in response teams and support special events or escalations as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 6 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of quality processes, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Email)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction
  • Ability to work independently in a customer-facing, on-site environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with customer plants or in supplier quality roles
  • Familiarity with incident reporting systems and quality tracking tools
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or automotive environments
