Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.ResponsibilitiesWork in all areas of our stores including cashiering, stocking, general maintenance, and cleaningAssist store management and team members in the achievement of a favorable customer shopping experienceAssist in leading teams in the planning, implementation and execution of merchandising and operating initiativesWork with team members to identify opportunities in the store, develop timely solutions and create action plans to ensure implementation of plansDrive sales working with store management team to maximize sales and profits while managing shrinkAssist the store management team in reducing turnover, increasing retention and maintaining consistent store operationsAssist with the management of labor and supply costs to meet customer service and financial targetsEnsure customer returns and exchanges are handled to satisfy customers while in compliance with company policies and proceduresMaintain an awareness of inventory and stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrityDisplay positive attitudeStay current with present, future, seasonal and special adsAdhere to all food safety regulations and guidelinesReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store managementReport all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraudAdhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelinesOversee the total store operations in absence of store managementMaintain flexibility to work any shift, ability to open or close storePromote trust and respect among team membersCreate an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold throughout the storeAchieve a satisfactory level of technical and professional skills or knowledge in position and related areasGain and maintain knowledge of products sold; respond to questions and make suggestions about productsPhysical demands include, but are not limited to, standing and walking 100% of the time, lifting an average of 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, bending, twisting/turning, manual dexterity, and repetitive motion of hands/wristsMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsMinimumAny previous supervisory/leadership experiencePast work record reflects dependability and integrityAbility to pass a pre-employment background checkKnowledge of basic mathEffective communication and reading skillsAbility to handle stressful situationsAbout UsBased in the Midwest, Ruler Foods merged with The Kroger Company in 1999.
