Job Overview

This role involves a variety of technical and clinical tasks within the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Qualifications

Patient Age Range: Adults (18-64 years) and Seniors (65 years and older).

Essential Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates should have completed a Cardiovascular Program, or alternatively, possess over 10 years of experience in an Invasive Cath Lab.

Preferred Education: Graduation from a CVT program along with RCIS certification is highly desirable.

Key Skills

• Proficient in radiographic techniques to minimize radiation exposure for both patients and staff.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Understanding of human anatomy and physiology (adult).
• Familiarity with hospital computer systems.
• Knowledge of filing systems.
• Capability to prepare procedure trays and equipment while ensuring sterility.
• Understanding of body mechanics and techniques.
• Ability to initiate appropriate patient charges.
• Skilled in operating Cath lab equipment.
• Advocacy skills for patient care.

Licensure and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Must obtain Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification within six months of hiring or transferring into this position.

Experience Requirements

Less than one year of experience in cardiac catheterization labs and/or direct patient care is required.
