    Description

Amex GBT is a place where colleagues find inspiration in travel as a force for good and – through their work – can make an impact on our industry. We’re here to help our colleagues achieve success and offer an inclusive and collaborative culture where your voice is valued.

A Cvent System Administrator serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, optimizing Cvent configurations to drive efficiency and achieve business objectives. They configure, maintain, and support Cvent while providing strategic consulting and best-practice recommendations — but do not manage logistics, source venues, or build event websites. This individual must be US-based and will provide support to multiple clients globally, working both independently and collaboratively across internal teams.

    What You’ll Do

    Strategic Consulting & Optimization

    • Serve as Cvent SME; recommend optimal configurations to meet client goals
    • Develop and maintain Cvent technology strategy
    • Identify workflow efficiencies and best practices
    • Consult on and implement change requests within agreed timeframes
    • Assess and communicate impacts of new Cvent releases

    System Configuration & Maintenance

    • Configure Cvent modules for new implementations and ongoing optimization
    • Manage system configuration: meeting request forms, libraries/data, workflows, roles/security, user licenses
    • Diagram process requirements into configuration/workflow specs

    Client Support & Communication

    • Ensure goals, objectives, and SLAs are met
    • Conduct new user and refresher training; maintain training materials
    • Translate technical concepts for varied audiences
    • Partner with Cvent on best practices for new implementations

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Support internal teams needing meetings technology expertise
    • Represent client needs across the organization; present as internal SME
    • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

    What We’re Looking For

    • Hands-on Cvent admin/configuration experience required (not an end-user or planner role)
    • 2–4 years in a client-facing technical/project management role
    • Strong communication skills across organizational levels
    • Business/technical analysis skills; able to lead teams without direct authority
    • Thrives under pressure, juggling competing priorities
    • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
    • Self-motivated, organized, accountable
    • Remote role; travel <10%

    Strongly Preferred

    • Life Sciences/Pharma or Event Management experience
    • Process-flow diagramming and efficiency improvement skills
    • Ability to simplify complex concepts
    • Bachelor's degree (Business, IT, or related) or equivalent experience
    • API integration, data management, or workflow automation experience

    Why This Role Matters

As a Cvent System Administrator, you'll be instrumental in helping our clients streamline their meeting operations, reduce costs, and improve user adoption — directly impacting their business success. You'll be a key strategic partner who transforms complex technical requirements into elegant, efficient solutions.
