CVICU RN | Nights | Permanent

The CVICU RN | Nights | Permanent role is designed for a skilled nurse with acute care experience, specializing in cardiovascular intensive care. This position operates within a dedicated CVICU team in a mixed ICU environment, managing critically ill patients with a typical patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 or 1:2. The role demands strong clinical skills and the ability to provide high-quality care during night shifts in a fast-paced, critical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU
• Monitor patient condition including vital signs and cardiac status
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary ICU teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) for accurate documentation
• Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient status
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of Recent (within the last 2-3 years) Acute Care ICU RN experience. *Would Consider 2+ years of PCU RN experience
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• Associate Degree, BSN preferred
• BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer
• ACLS within 90 days of hire/transfer

Preferred Qualifications

• Critical care nursing expertise including cardiac life support
• Experience managing ventilators and advanced patient assessment
• Proficient in medication administration and electronic health records (EHR)
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• Effective time management in a high-acuity environment
• ACLS Certification within 90 days of hire/transfer
