    Description

    A 221-bed acute care Level II Trauma Center in Sanford, FL is seeking an experienced CVOR RN to join its cardiovascular surgical program. The hospital offers the area's only full-service cardiovascular program, encompassing open-heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and comprehensive diagnostic services.

    The role. Reporting within the surgical services department, the CVOR RN functions as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team that includes surgeons, surgical technologists, and other providers. You will evaluate patients prior to surgery, assume responsibility for patient preparation — including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification — and participate in briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocol processes in accordance with hospital policy. Throughout each shift, you will assess and monitor patient condition, document changes and care delivered, and provide education to patients and their families or caregivers regarding the procedure and perioperative process. On-call coverage is required and typically ranges approximately 10–15 assignments per month, with a required call-back response time of within 30 minutes.

    What we're looking for.

    • 1 year of recent acute care Operating Room RN or CVOR RN experience required
    • Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree
    • (APRN) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or (RN) Registered Nurse
    • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

    Schedule. Days with rotating weekends; on-call coverage is required and varies, typically approximately 10–15 assignments per month.
