Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – CVOR
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12-Hour (18:30–07:00)
Function as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) providing scrub support in a high-acuity Cardiovascular Operating Room
Prepare CVOR, Hybrid OR, and General OR suites by assembling instruments, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields for complex cardiac and vascular procedures
Perform scrub duties for advanced cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique, infection prevention standards, and Universal Protocol / Time-Out procedures
Anticipate surgeon needs and accurately pass instruments, sutures, and supplies during high-risk procedures
Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and intraoperative support
Operate and manage specialized CVOR equipment including cell saver, crash cart, electrosurgical units, fiber optics, drills, and robotic systems
Support cardiac and vascular instrument reprocessing, including care of scopes and fiber optic equipment
Handle, label, and transfer specimens according to hospital and regulatory standards
Accurately complete equipment and perioperative documentation using EPIC
Participate in emergency and trauma cases within a Level I Trauma environment
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, RNs, and interdisciplinary perioperative teams
Float within CVOR, General OR, Hybrid OR, and Trauma settings as operational needs require
Take call assignments, including nights and weekends, as scheduled
Minimum 5 years total Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) experience – required (hard stop)
Minimum 2 years of dedicated cardiac and vascular surgical experience – required
Minimum 1 year CVOR experience – required
Minimum 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility – required
Strong scrub experience in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures, including but not limited to:
CABG, valve replacements, EVAR, TEVAR, TAVR, VAD
Aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass
Thoracic and minimally invasive cardiac procedures
Experience with scrub and circulate roles, crash cart usage, and emergency response
Proficiency in aseptic technique, radiation safety, sharps safety, isolation precautions, and specimen handling
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Required (NBSTSA or equivalent)
BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required (AHA or ARC)
Active and unrestricted state license or credential as required by facility and state regulations
