CVOR Surgical Technician - Contract

Title: CVOR Surgical Technician

Location: Charlotte NC

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36

Shift Information: 1900-0700

Clinical Interviewing- No

On Call, Call Back Requirements: 1 night per week and 2 weekends in a 6-week scheduling period

Weekend Rotation: May have to cover nights or weekends if in house person calls out and you are on call

Holiday Requirements: Might be required if they fall within contract period

Floating Requirements: Possibly to Pineville CVOR but unlikely

• 900 licensed beds
• Level 1 Trauma Designation
• Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Levine Children s Hospital
• Teaching Hospital
• Chest Pain Center
• Stroke Center
• Magnet Designation

Unit Information:

• 7 ORs dedicated to Adult and Peds Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular
• Department will support Cath Lab and EP Lab

Minimum Experience Required:

• Surg Tech: at least 2 years of Adult CVOR experience
• Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Cardiac/Vascular/Thoracic Surgery

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

• Surg Tech: BLS and Certification preferred but not required

Skills required:

• Surg Tech: experience with adult CVOR case types

Support within the Department:

• Clinical Supervisor
• Charge RN
• OR Assistants
• Anesthesia/CRNA team
• Experienced peer support

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Unit specific equipment: not specified

Floating: If yes, where:

• Possibly to Pineville CVOR but unlikely

Orientation (facility and unit):

• Depends on experience level
• NEO
• 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation:
• Surg Tech: May have to cover nights or weekends if in house person calls out and you are on call
• Call required:
  • Surg Tech: 1 night per week and 2 weekends in a 6-week scheduling period
  • Call Back Time: 1 hour
  • Sleep Room available
• Holiday Expectations: might be required if they fall within contract period
• RTO: Manager approval
• Shift times: varies
• Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks

• Scrub Color: Personal scrubs to and from the hospital but hospital issued scrubs in the OR
