CVOR Tech- Carbondale, IL
Location                            : Carbondale, IL 62901
Project Duration           : 13 weeks
Pay range                         : $50 – $54 per hour
Shift                                    : 8 hr days
 
Job Summary 
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular OR Tech / CVOR Surgical Technologist to join our Open Heart Team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience scrubbing complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures and be comfortable working in a fast-paced operating room environment.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist with cardiac surgical procedures, including:
• Cardiac bypass procedures
• Valve replacement surgeries
• Robotic lung procedures
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field, surgical instruments, and equipment.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during complex cardiovascular procedures.
• Ensure appropriate instruments and supplies are available throughout each procedure.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and follow OR safety and infection-control protocols.
• Participate in the department's on-call rotation, maintaining a 30-minute response time.
• Be willing to scrub general OR cases when CVOR cases are not scheduled or coverage is needed.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other members of the surgical team.

 
Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CVOR / Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist.
• Recent hands-on experience scrubbing:

• Cardiac bypass
• Valve replacement
• Robotic lung cases

• Strong understanding of cardiovascular OR procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique.
• Ability to participate in approximately 10 call days per month.
• Must be able to meet the 30-minute call response time.
• Willingness to support general OR cases when needed.
