Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced technician to join a high-acuity cardiovascular operating room team within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level III Trauma facility. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiovascular operating room experience and be comfortable supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including open and minimally invasive cases.

First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Local candidates are accepted.

Position Details

• Position/Specialty: Technician
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Shifts Available:
  • 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
  • 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
• ORs: 6 total — 4 ORs, 1 Hybrid OR, 1 PV OR
• Weekend Requirement: Up to 2 weekends per month
• On-Call Requirement: Up to 2 weekends per month and up to 2 weekdays per week; holiday call as needed
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday call may be required
• Floating: No floating within the facility or to sister facilities
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Locals: Accepted
• Pending State License: Not accepted
• RTO: No more than 5 days

Required Cardiac & Vascular Case Experience

Cardiac Surgery

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), on-pump and off-pump
• Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
• Mitral Valve Replacement/Repair (MVRR)
• Tricuspid Valve Replacement/Repair (TVRR)
• Aortic aneurysm and dissection procedures
• Total artificial heart procedures
• Heart transplantation
• Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation
• Minimally invasive valve replacement
• Transcatheter mitral, aortic, and tricuspid valve replacement procedures

Vascular Surgery

• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair
• Thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair
• Fenestrated graft procedures
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Peripheral vascular bypass procedures
• Femoral-popliteal bypass grafts
• Amputations
• ECMO decannulation and repositioning
• Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)
• Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR)

Required CVOR Case Experience

• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
• Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) Repair
• Carotid Endarterectomy

• Pericardial Window

Certifications & Requirements

• NBSTSA or NCCT certification: Required
• BLS: Required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures
• Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs during complex procedures
• Strong understanding of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and CVOR equipment
