Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and qualify welding processes to meet code and quality requirements.
• Prepare and approve WPS/PQR as per AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX standards.
• Define essential, supplementary, and non-essential welding variables.
• Select appropriate welding methods (SMAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW) and optimize processes.
• Control heat input, minimize distortion, and improve productivity and cost efficiency.
• Conduct failure analysis and metallurgical evaluation (HAZ, microstructure, defects).
• Identify root causes of weld failures and recommend corrective measures.
• Review client specifications, drawings, and ensure compliance with ASTM and ASME codes.
• Develop and oversee welder training programs and qualification (WPQ).
• Collaborate with QA/QC, production, and clients for technical alignment.
• Lead technical discussions, audits, and ensure process standardization.
• Approve WPS/PQR, consumables, repair methods, and support client technical acceptance."
