Description

Position Summary

The Oracle CX4U Architect is a senior technical and functional leader responsible for the end-to-end design, configuration, and delivery of Oracle CX4U solutions for utility clients. This role serves as the primary solution authority on CX4U implementations, translating client business requirements into scalable platform architectures that leverage AI, ML, IoT integration, and real-time analytics to transform the customer experience across the full utility customer lifecycle.

The ideal candidate combines deep Oracle Utilities domain expertise with hands-on CX4U platform knowledge and the ability to drive client outcomes across onboarding, billing, outage management, customer engagement, and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Lead end-to-end architecture and design of Oracle CX4U implementations, including customer onboarding workflows, billing systems, proactive outage communication modules, and personalized engagement frameworks.

  • Design and validate integrations between CX4U and smart meter infrastructure, IoT devices, decentralized energy grids, and Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).

  • Develop technical architecture documentation, solution blueprints, data flow diagrams, and integration specifications.

  • Ensure platform configurations align to client regulatory compliance requirements, including automated compliance reporting capabilities.

Client Delivery & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary CX4U subject matter expert in client-facing workshops, discovery sessions, and executive presentations.

  • Translate complex client requirements into functional and technical design documents (FDDs/TDDs) and lead solution walkthroughs with client stakeholders.

  • Guide clients through AI-powered personalization strategies, including predictive billing analytics, energy consumption visualization, and proactive outage communication design.

  • Manage solution scope, identify risks, and collaborate with project managers to maintain delivery timelines and quality standards.

Platform Configuration & Implementation

  • Configure Oracle CX4U modules including digital self-service portals, real-time data validation workflows, flexible billing models (pay-as-you-go, subscription, usage-based), and predictive analytics dashboards.

  • Lead system integration efforts connecting CX4U with Oracle CC&B, C2M, MDM, and third-party head-end systems, WOMS, GIS, and CRM platforms.

  • Oversee data migration strategies, UAT planning, and cutover execution for CX4U go-lives.

Innovation & Sustainability

  • Champion sustainability-focused CX capabilities including green initiative program configuration, carbon footprint monitoring tools, and EV charging and solar adoption engagement features.

  • Support smart grid integration design leveraging CX4U predictive analytics for grid resilience and distributed energy management.

  • Contribute to Red Clay's CX4U solution accelerators, reusable assets, and go-to-market offerings.

Team Leadership & Knowledge Transfer

  • Mentor junior consultants and functional analysts on CX4U platform capabilities and utility CX best practices.

  • Deliver client-facing training and knowledge transfer sessions to ensure successful adoption post go-live.

  • Contribute to internal practice development, including proposal responses, estimating, and thought leadership content.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Oracle Utilities consulting or implementation experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on Oracle CX solutions (CX4U, CX Cloud, or equivalent Oracle CX platforms).

  • Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following Oracle Utilities products: CC&B, C2M, MDM, CCS, or MWM.

  • Hands-on experience designing integrations with smart meter infrastructure, IoT devices, or head-end systems (Sensus, Itron, Landis+Gyr preferred).

  • Proven track record leading full lifecycle CX platform implementations -- from discovery through go-live and hypercare.

  • Strong understanding of utility billing models, outage management processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Experience with AI/ML-driven analytics platforms and ability to translate capabilities into client-ready solution designs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present confidently to C-suite and executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle CX4U or Oracle Utilities Cloud certification.

  • Experience with sustainability-driven utility programs including renewable energy integration, EV charging, and carbon monitoring solutions.

  • Familiarity with real-time energy trading platforms and decentralized grid management architectures.

  • Background in Agile/Waterfall delivery environments with multi-workstream program experience.

  • Experience responding to RFPs and contributing to competitive proposal development.

About Company

"In 2001, Red Clay Consulting was established on the founding partners’ desire to bring a superior level of implementation, integration, and consulting services to the utility market. We are headquartered in Atlanta, GA—a city built on a foundation of crimson-hued mineral soil. This soil, called red clay, is known for possessing exceptional bearing capacity; which is the ability of soil to support the load applied to it. The same is true of our approach to helping clients. Our breadth and depth of our experience with Oracle & LODESTAR utility solutions means we can solve any business solution and overcome any obstacle that would restrict us from delivering anything less than one 100-percent client satisfaction and project success. What’s more, Red Clay’s proprietary accelerator products — SmartGridONE and SmartGridMigration — allow our clients to enjoy better results up to 50-percent faster."
