Cyber Security Engineer (Remote)

A financial services organization is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for a Fully Remote opportunity. This role supports enterprise cybersecurity tools and infrastructure, with a focus on systems administration, vulnerability remediation, and secure platform maintenance.

About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities:

• Support the administration and operational stability of cybersecurity systems and related infrastructure

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot security platforms across Linux and Windows environments

• Remediate vulnerabilities, support patch management, and help maintain system hardening standards

• Monitor incidents, work queues, and assigned tasks while participating in Agile/Kanban workflows

• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and process records while coordinating across teams on changes and deployments

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Systems Administration or Systems Engineering experience in a large enterprise environment

• 3+ years of experience supporting Cybersecurity Technologies or Enterprise Infrastructure environments

• Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Linux operating systems and/or Windows Server environments

• Experience with patching, upgrading, and maintaining operating systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure

• Experience working in large enterprise environments with mature change management processes

• Understanding of enterprise security hardening and cybersecurity best practices

• Experience working within ITIL-based operational processes including change, incident, problem, and configuration management

• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, or Ansible

• Experience supporting SIEM platforms and security monitoring technologies

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and related troubleshooting

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Ansible

• Experience with Jira and Confluence

• Experience in regulated environments such as PCI-DSS, NCUA, or financial services

• Ability to read and understand a packet capture

• Experience managing Linux-based Java/Tomcat COTS web applications, Windows .NET-based IIS COTS applications, or physical/virtual appliances with limited Linux CLI interfaces
