Location: Fully Remote (with occasional on-site work in Fairfax, VA)
Clearance: Active SECRET or TOP SECRET required (do not apply without at least a SECRET clearance)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day (start between 7–8am)
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security SME to support a Federal agency. The SME will provide expert guidance to the Vulnerability Assessment Team, helping shape assessment methodologies, risk calculations, and recommendations for strengthening enterprise defenses. This role requires a proven track record of vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis within complex environments.
Advise the Vulnerability Assessment Team on improved methods for performing assessments and calculating risk based on network architecture, defense-in-depth, and data value.
Conduct and guide vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and cloud security evaluations.
Provide subject matter expertise in security architecture, defense strategies, and incident prevention.
Leverage expertise in tools and platforms such as Qualys, Zscaler, AWS, and Azure.
Deliver clear, actionable recommendations to both technical teams and leadership.
Master’s Degree in Information Technology (Cyber Security preferred).
10+ years of Cyber Security experience, including:
Vulnerability assessments
Penetration testing
(Preferred) Cloud security assessments
Active SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance (required to apply).
Current CISSP or CISM certification.
CPENT / LPT (EC-Council Certified Penetration Testing / Licensed Pen Tester)
GPEN (GIAC Penetration Tester)
OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional)
Familiarity with Qualys for vulnerability management.
Hands-on experience with Zscaler, AWS, and Azure.
