MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cybersecurity System Security Engineer (CSSE) - III to join our team in El Segundo, CA.

In this role, you will provide critical support within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting SSC and AFSPC acquisition programs. You will deliver daily technical support across Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities to ensure systems meet essential NIST Cybersecurity requirements for system assessment and authorization in a full-time, on-site environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of System Security Engineers and Certification Analysts ensuring customer national and international security interests are protected during acquisition system design and testing.
  • Chair and co-chair customer and SAP community Cybersecurity working groups while actively participating in Systems Security Engineering IPT reviews.
  • Perform oversight for the development, implementation, and evaluation of information system security program policies with emphasis on SAP network infrastructures.
  • Provide expert-level consultation and technical services on all aspects of Information Security and system designs.
  • Develop and provide Cybersecurity risk management recommendations, Program Protection Plans, and Cybersecurity Strategies to the customer.
  • Assist with site activation activities, design reviews, and test and evaluation of systems.
  • Work directly with approval and accreditation authorities to successfully obtain systems' Authorization to Operate (ATO).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline an additional 4 years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 12+ years of total experience, including a minimum of 8 years of experience within an SCI or SAR environment.
  • 4 years of direct Special Access Program (SAP) relevant experience.
  • Must meet DoD Directive 8570.01-M/8140 requirements for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 3 and Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level 3 within 6 months of hire.
  • Full understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) processes for system accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DoD security policies, manuals, and appropriate ICDs, JAFANs, and related guiding policy documents.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with DoD, military, civilian, and industry partners.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, and initiative while requiring minimal supervision.

Clearance Requirements

  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Must be eligible for access to Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR), including both air and ground transportation.
  • Person in this position may remain in a stationary position 50% of the time in closed-area offices.
  • Must be able to occasionally move about inside and outside of the office to access files, cabinets, and safes, or install and remove computer-related equipment.

The projected compensation range for this position is $141,500.00-$236,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
