Our client, a technology services company headquartered in Boston's Financial District, is hiring a Cybersecurity Analyst to join their information security team. This role supports the protection of enterprise systems, networks, and data assets for a client base that spans financial services, healthcare, and higher education sectors.

The analyst will work closely with the security operations center (SOC) and IT infrastructure teams to monitor threats, investigate incidents, and maintain compliance with industry frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2. Day-to-day responsibilities include log analysis, vulnerability assessments, and contributing to security policy documentation.

This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week on-site in Boston. The team operates in a collaborative environment with access to modern security tooling and regular professional development opportunities, including support for industry certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor SIEM platforms for security events and escalate incidents according to established playbooks
  • Conduct vulnerability scans and coordinate remediation with system owners
  • Investigate phishing attempts, malware alerts, and unauthorized access events
  • Assist with penetration testing engagements and review findings reports
  • Maintain documentation for security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
  • Support internal and external compliance audits including evidence collection
  • Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies as needs evolve
  • Participate in tabletop exercises and contribute to business continuity planning

Requirements

  • 4 or more years of experience in an information security or cybersecurity role
  • Proficiency with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or IBM QRadar
  • Working knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection platforms
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or SOC 2
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable Nessus or Qualys
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant certification such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP preferred
