A leading global AmLaw 50 law firm with a nationally recognized Cybersecurity, Privacy & Artificial Intelligence practice is seeking a mid-level associate to join its growing team. The practice spans the full lifecycle of cyber, privacy, and AI risk management, including strategic counseling, incident response, regulatory investigations, complex litigation, and transactional support. Attorneys in this group regularly advise on emerging legal frameworks and high-profile matters involving data privacy, cybersecurity incidents, artificial intelligence governance, and evolving domestic and international regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience advising clients on privacy and cybersecurity laws, excellent analytical and writing skills, and a genuine interest in helping clients navigate rapidly evolving technology and regulatory landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on U.S. state and federal privacy laws, cybersecurity regulations, and emerging artificial intelligence governance frameworks.
Counsel clients on privacy, cybersecurity, and technology issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and other commercial transactions.
Assist clients with incident response matters, including data breach investigations, regulatory notifications, and crisis management.
Support and defend clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions involving state attorneys general, federal agencies, and international regulators.
Advise on global privacy and data protection frameworks, including cross-border data transfer issues and international compliance obligations.
Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups to provide practical, business-focused legal solutions.
Manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining exceptional client service and attention to detail.
Qualifications
4–7 years of privacy, cybersecurity, technology, or related regulatory experience in a large law firm setting
Hands-on experience advising clients on state and federal privacy laws and conducting transactional diligence
Familiarity with data-driven technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and biometric technologies
Experience with privacy and data protection frameworks such as GDPR, UK GDPR, and cross-border data transfers preferred
Exposure to incident response, data breach investigations, or regulatory enforcement matters is a plus
Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and communication skills
Strong academic credentials and a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission, or eligibility for admission, in the jurisdiction where the candidate will practice
