Position Objective
Clover Park Technical College seeks an industry-engaged faculty member to serve as the primary instructor and academic anchor for the Bachelor of Applied Science in Cybersecurity program. The incumbent will teach governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and defensive security, including foundational offensive security concepts, while mentoring students in professional development and career readiness. Students learn in hands-on lab environments through applied, project-based coursework that reflects current industry practice, including AI security content. The program serves a diverse student body that includes veterans and military-connected students from nearby Joint Base Lewis-McChord. This role leads continuous curriculum improvement aligned with employer needs, emerging cybersecurity trends, and hybrid program delivery. The position collaborates with Computer Programming and Mechatronics faculty to support interdisciplinary learning and industrial control systems (ICS) security education.

The salary range for this position is $103,123 to $108,317- Pursuant to WA House Bill 2158, which includes the Computer Science Tenure Track Faculty program, may receive additional compensation. The rate is subject to change depending on industry salaries, and funding. Funding is appropriated through June 30, 2027.
This position is represented by the Clover Park Federation of Teachers, Local 3913, AFT/ AFT Washington.

Health Insurance / FSA
Eligible employees may choose from among seven health plans offered in 2026-2027, including Consumer-Directed Health Plans with Health Savings Account (CDHP-HSA). Dental Insurance
Eligible employees may choose from two managed care plans and one preferred provider plan. Dental premiums for you and your dependent(s) are fully paid by CPTC.
Life Insurance
CPTC provides each eligible employee with $35,000 Basic life insurance, and $5,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment policy at no additional cost. Options allow employees to design their own coverage by purchasing additional coverage as well as coverage for dependents.
Long Term Disability Insurance
CPTC pays for Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage with a 90-day waiting period and a maximum benefit of $450 per month. You may purchase additional optional LTD coverage to supplement the Basic LTD, providing up to 60 percent of your monthly salary.

Do you have a masters degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field?

Do you have three (3) or more years of recent (within the last five years) hands-on professional experience in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and/or defensive security operations, such as risk assessment using NIST CSF or RMF, audit and compliance support, security operations, incident detection and response, system hardening, or vulnerability management. Military or government experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, cyber operations, intelligence, communications, or related technical fields qualifies?
