Shift: 2nd Shift- Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am (OT Required)
Job Summary
The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records within a high-volume clothing distribution facility. This role performs routine cycle counts, inventory audits, and variance investigations while safely operating material handling equipment, including a cherry picker, to access elevated storage locations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced in warehouse inventory control environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts on finished goods and inventory locations
- Conduct inventory audits and research discrepancies between physical counts and system quantities
- Accurately document inventory adjustments and communicate findings to warehouse leadership
- Utilize a cherry picker and other material handling equipment to count inventory in elevated racking
- Verify product SKU numbers, sizes, colors, and quantities to ensure inventory accuracy
- Assist with annual physical inventories as required
- Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and company policies when operating equipment
- Maintain organized inventory areas and report damaged or mislabeled product
- Work closely with warehouse supervisors and inventory control teams to resolve issues
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cycle counter or inventory auditor in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Cherry picker experience required (must be comfortable working at heights)
- Strong understanding of inventory control and counting procedures
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a clothing, footwear, or retail distribution center
- RF scanner or barcode scanning experience
- Forklift certification (stand-up or reach truck)
- Prior experience with cycle counts in high-SKU environments
Work Environment
- Fast-paced clothing distribution facility
- Frequent use of cherry picker to access high racking locations
- Exposure to warehouse conditions including noise, dust, and varying temperatures
