Position Overview

Pay range: $33.85 - $55.00 / hour

Sign-on bonus: $8,000 new hire sign-on bonus may be available (full-time only)

Shifts: full-time AM

Job Description

To evaluate cytologic preparations microscopically to determine presence or absence of malignant cells, pre-malignant changes or inflammatory lesions and issue final or provisional diagnosis as appropriate. To include identification and subjective interpretation of disease processes. To handle cytologic specimens including, accessioning, preparation and reporting, following quality control procedures and maintaining documentation. To perform cytopreparatory procedures, including troubleshooting when necessary to ensure consistent results.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a science related field and successful completion within the last five (5) years of a Cytology training program approved by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently certified as a Cytologist (CT) or Specialist in Cytology (SCT) by The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.
