Prepare cytology slides and cell block preparations from Non Gynecologic Specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Cytotechnicians, Cytopathologists, and Pathologists. Perform pre-analytical procedures including labeling, preparing aliquots, specimen processing, laboratory waste disposal, and decontamination of laboratory areas.
Requirements:
- High school diploma equivalent education, GED, or post-secondary education
- Preferred:
• Two (2) years of experience as a Cytology Preparations Technician in a clinical or pathology laboratory
• Knowledge and experience in the use and application of computers
• Ability to understand and apply accurate procedures in specimen handling and clerical processing
• Good communication and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to provide accurate information and instructions
• Strong computer keyboarding skills
