Charge Nurse for the Crisis Service Diagnostic Center (CSDC)

Program Overview:

River Edge Behavioral Health is seeking a motivated and experienced Charge Nurse (RN) with exceptional leadership, communication, and clinical skills. The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care, supervising nursing staff, ensuring quality clinical services, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the nursing department. This position serves as a leader and role model for nursing staff while promoting positive patient outcomes and compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.

Location/Schedule: 750 Hazel Street, Macon, Ga - 36 hours 3-12-hour shifts Sunday-Saturday and Every Other Weekend 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and support nursing staff while promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Lead and support departmental change initiatives and quality improvement efforts.
  • Record patient information, monitor vital signs, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the daily functions of nursing personnel and administrative operations.
  • Oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Mentor and train new nursing staff and provide ongoing guidance and support to team members.
  • Monitor medical charts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families.

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to recognize contributions and celebrate accomplishments.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and modeling professional behavior.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current and unrestricted Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Behavioral health, psychiatric, crisis stabilization, or residential treatment experience preferred.
