Dynamics 365 Field Service Solution Architect
Pay Rate: $82.65/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Dynamics 365 Field Service Solution Architect to lead the architecture and delivery of a Dynamics 365 Field Service implementation.
The initial project will focus on delivering a streamlined MVP implementation of Dynamics 365 Field Service, primarily focused on improving field resource scheduling and connecting completed field work to invoicing within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
This is a hands-on Solution Architect role requiring someone who can own the technical direction of the project, work directly with client stakeholders, and lead the implementation through completion. The initial engagement is expected to run through the end of the year, with strong potential for additional phases and a longer-term opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end architecture and implementation of Dynamics 365 Field Service.
Own the technical direction and high-level project plan for the implementation.
Translate business requirements into practical Dynamics 365 solutions.
Configure and provide architectural direction across core Field Service functionality, including work orders, incident types, resources, scheduling, calendars, and the Schedule Board.
Lead a minimally customized MVP implementation utilizing standard Dynamics 365 functionality wherever possible.
Support integration between Dynamics 365 Field Service and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for invoicing and related business processes.
Work with Microsoft Dual-write and collaborate with supporting integration resources.
Define technical requirements and delegate development or configuration work to supporting resources.
Lead client-facing technical discussions and provide consultative guidance around requirements, solution design, scope, and technical feasibility.
Identify requirements that fall outside the agreed project scope and communicate potential impacts before commitments are made.
Potentially support additional Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement initiatives, including Customer Service and Sales.
Required Experience
Significant hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service.
Experience working on multiple Dynamics 365 Field Service implementations, with demonstrated experience personally leading implementations as the Solution Architect or Technical Lead.
Experience leading Field Service projects through multiple stages of the implementation lifecycle, including requirements, solution architecture, configuration, testing, and deployment.
Hands-on experience configuring core Field Service functionality, including work orders, incident types, resources, scheduling, calendars, and the Schedule Board.
Experience creating and owning the technical architecture and implementation plan for Dynamics 365 projects.
Demonstrated experience leading client-facing requirements and solution design discussions.
Experience directing developers or other technical resources and clearly defining technical requirements and development tasks.
Advanced hands-on experience with Power Automate in Dynamics 365 environments.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse and its use across Dynamics 365 applications.
Experience integrating Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement applications with ERP or other enterprise systems.
Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Microsoft Dual-write, with the ability to participate confidently in technical discussions around CE and F&O integration.
Experience managing technical scope during client implementations and identifying requirements that could impact budget, timeline, or project scope.
Ability to independently own the technical delivery of a full-time implementation engagement.
Preferred Experience
Hands-on implementation experience with Dynamics 365 Customer Service.
Experience implementing Dynamics 365 Sales.
Broader experience across the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement suite.
Experience developing or designing Dynamics 365 plugins and custom extensions.
Direct experience integrating Dynamics 365 CE with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
Hands-on experience with Dual-write in a production environment.
Experience working with distributed or offshore development teams.
Experience delivering Dynamics 365 solutions across multiple industries.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a true Dynamics 365 Field Service Solution Architect who can confidently explain how a Field Service implementation should be structured and has personally led these projects in the past.
This person should be equally comfortable discussing architecture with technical teams and working directly with business stakeholders. They should be able to take ownership of the technical delivery while utilizing developers and other resources for supporting work.
Strong communication and consulting skills are critical. This person will be expected to provide recommendations, manage expectations, protect project scope, and guide clients who may not always know exactly what they need.
