D365 Finance Data Migration Lead

Job Overview
We are seeking a senior, hands-on D365 Finance Data Migration Lead to drive end-to-end financial data migration from Microsoft Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Finance (F&O). This role serves as a key liaison between finance stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring accurate data transformation, validation, and reporting migration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end financial data migration from Microsoft Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Finance (F&O), including data extraction, transformation, validation, and load (ETL) processes
- Define and execute data migration strategy, mapping, and validation frameworks
- Collaborate with finance leadership (GL, financial reporting, accounting) to validate migration outputs and ensure data accuracy
- Transform legacy GP account structures into D365 financial dimensions and entity models
- Drive data mapping and consolidation across multiple entities, including dimension remapping (e.g., locations, reporting hierarchies)
- Establish scalable data validation processes to ensure integrity without reliance on manual validation
- Support migration of financial reporting from Management Reporter (MR) to D365 Financial Reporting (FR)
- Work hands-on with data using Excel, mapping templates, and ERP data tools
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and implementation partners to align on migration execution
- Provide best practice guidance and migration roadmap planning based on prior GP to D365 experience
- Support finance team enablement, including training on reporting and validation processes
Required Qualifications- 812+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics finance systems
- Proven experience leading Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Finance (F&O) migrations
- Strong expertise in financial data structures, including General Ledger (GL), chart of accounts, and financial reporting
- Hands-on experience with data migration and ETL processes in ERP environments
- Experience migrating Management Reporter (MR) to D365 Financial Reporting (FR)
- Ability to design and implement scalable data validation strategies
- Strong functional consulting skills with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with data mapping templates and large datasets
- Experience working in complex, multi-entity environments with high data volumes
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with entity consolidation or restructuring during ERP implementations
- Familiarity with D365 data tools such as Data Management Framework (DIXF) and BYOD
- Experience working with ERP implementation partners (e.g., Velosio or similar)
- Experience supporting phased or iterative ERP go-live approaches
