Position: Daily Substitute ABA Therapist/Behavior Tech

Department: Mulready Elementary School

Reports to: Director of Student Services

SUMMARY:

Hudson Public Schools is seeking day to day ABA therapists/Behavior Tech substitutes as needed to support our Special Education Programs. Working with the supervising special education teacher, BCBA, and classroom staff, the Daily Substitute ABA Therapist provides support to students receiving ABA-based services, assists with established instructional and behavioral strategies, and supports students' academic, communication, social, and daily living skills in a safe, structured learning environment.

Duties:

  • Follow established student support, instructional, and behavioral guidelines.
  • Provide support to students as directed by classroom and program staff.
  • Assist with established classroom routines, transitions, and activities.
  • Support a safe, positive, and structured learning environment.
  • Communicate relevant student needs or observations to supervising staff.
  • Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Hours: 8:20am - 3:00pm

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with disabilities, including those with IEPs or 504 Plans, preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred
  • RBT Certification preferred

Pay: $20.00/hour

  • Per diem schedule - flex scheduling - pick and choose when you want to work!

While performing duties of this job, the employee may often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee will have also have ample periods of standing and may be required to traverse throughout the building. The employee must frequently use hands and frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). Physical abilities may also include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field. Ability must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short periods, and walk up and down stairs several times a day. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members, and the public in person and on the telephone.
